Kettlebell Split Stance Deadlift
A hinge with the feet split front to back, loading one hip at a time to build single-side strength and balance.
hingebalance
Why it matters for golf
Splitting the stance puts most of the load on the front hip, training the hinge one side at a time. Golfers load and unload each hip in sequence during the swing, so single-side hinge strength transfers directly.
Coaching cues
- Long spine, hips back. It's still a hinge.
- Keep most of the weight through the front foot.
- The back foot is a kickstand, not a driver.
- Stand tall by driving the front hip through.
Common faults
- Turning it into a lunge by bending the back knee.
- Rounding the back to reach the bell.
- Hips rotating open instead of staying square.
