Why it matters for golf
Pairing pushes and pulls back to back trains the shoulders and trunk to stabilize in both directions without rest. That balanced upper body strength holds posture under fatigue, including late in the round.
Coaching cues
- Own each position before flowing to the next.
- Keep the brace on through every transition.
- Full range on both the push and the pull.
- Smooth pace. Don't let the flow get sloppy.
Common faults
- Shortening reps as fatigue builds.
- Losing trunk position between movements.
