    Kettlebell Lateral Swing

A swing variation with lateral movement, adding side-to-side weight shift to the hinge power pattern.

    hingepower

    Why it matters for golf

The standard swing builds power straight ahead. Adding a lateral element trains the hips to shift and load side to side while still producing force, which mirrors the trail-side load and lead-side post of the golf swing.

    Coaching cues

    • It's still a hinge. Hips back, flat back.
    • Shift the weight with the hips, not the shoulders.
    • Stay braced as the bell changes its line.
    • Finish every rep tall and balanced.

    Common faults

    • Turning it into an arm swing as the load moves sideways.
    • Losing the flat back at the bottom.
