Cable Step To Lateral
Cable drill stepping into a lateral move, training the pressure shift that starts the downswing.

Why it matters for golf
Stepping into resistance teaches the golfer to move pressure into the lead side and stabilize fast. That shift is the trigger for everything that follows in the downswing, and most amateurs never train it directly.
Coaching cues
- Set cable tension, then step with intent.
- Land on the whole foot, hips level.
- Let the lower body lead the move.
- Finish balanced before the next rep.
Common faults
- Falling into the step instead of controlling it.
- Upper body tipping sideways to fake the shift.
