Why it matters for golf
Golf loads one leg at a time. The split squat builds each leg's strength and stability so the golfer can accept pressure into the lead side and post up without wobble.
Coaching cues
- Long stance, front foot flat, back heel up.
- Drop straight down, not forward.
- Front knee tracks over the toes.
- Push through the front foot to stand.
Common faults
- Torso pitching forward over the front leg.
- Front knee diving inward.
