Band Activator Squat
Band-resisted squat that builds the leg and hip strength golfers use to push into the ground.
squat
Why it matters for golf
Speed starts at the floor. The squat builds the leg and glute strength that lets a golfer push into the ground and hold posture through the swing. Stronger legs also mean better balance and less fatigue late in the round.
Coaching cues
- Feet about shoulder width, weight spread across the whole foot.
- Sit the hips down and back, chest up.
- Push the floor away to stand, knees tracking over the toes.
- Keep tension on the band through the full rep.
Common faults
- Heels lifting or weight rolling to the toes.
- Knees caving inward on the way up.
- Chest collapsing forward at the bottom.
