Band
Band Bent Over Row
Hip-hinged band row that builds the upper back and lats while the golfer holds a loaded hinge position.
pullhinge
Why it matters for golf
The row strengthens the lats and mid back, the muscles that control the club and keep the chest from slumping. Holding the hinge while pulling teaches the golfer to keep spine angle under load, the same job posture does through the downswing.
Coaching cues
- Hinge at the hips, back flat, knees soft.
- Pull the band to the ribs, elbows tracking behind you.
- Squeeze the shoulder blades at the top.
- Hold the hinge, do not stand up to finish the pull.
Common faults
- Rounding the low back as fatigue builds.
- Yanking with the arms instead of driving the elbows back.
