Band squat variation with a reversed line of pull, keeping constant tension on the legs and hips.

    Why it matters for golf

Squatting against band resistance builds the leg and glute strength golfers use to push into the ground. Changing the line of pull keeps tension constant and challenges control through the whole rep, not just the sticking point.

    Coaching cues

    • Set even band tension before the first rep.
    • Sit the hips down and back, chest tall.
    • Drive the whole foot into the floor to stand.
    • Control the lowering, do not let the band win.

    Common faults

    • Knees caving as the band loads.
    • Losing upright posture at the bottom.
