    Mobility

    Spinal Release

Relaxed spinal release position that lets the back muscles let go, restoring easy motion after loading or long sitting.

    mobility

    Why it matters for golf

A spine that holds tension rotates poorly. This release position gives the spinal muscles time to relax and let the segments settle. Use it after heavy loading, long car rides, or a full day standing over the ball.

    Coaching cues

    • Settle into the position and let everything go heavy.
    • Breathe slow and low. Long exhales.
    • Stay at least thirty seconds to a minute.
    • Come out slow.

    Common faults

    • Holding tension and calling it a stretch.
    • Shallow chest breathing.
    • Leaving before the muscles actually release.
