Mobility
Pec Hold
Static pec stretch hold that opens the chest, freeing the arms and shoulders to swing on a full arc.
mobility
Why it matters for golf
Tight pecs pull the shoulders forward and shorten the swing arc on both sides. Opening the chest lets the lead arm stay long in the backswing and the trail arm extend through the ball. It also supports the tall posture the DRVN Mobility Assessment screens for.
Coaching cues
- Set the stretch, then relax into it.
- Keep the ribs down. No arching to cheat range.
- Breathe slow and let each exhale deepen the stretch.
- Hold thirty seconds or more per side.
Common faults
- Arching the lower back to fake chest opening.
- Shrugging into the stretch.
- Holding the breath.
