Med Ball
Med Ball Vertical
Vertical med ball power work, training the leg drive and ground force that feed clubhead speed.
power
Why it matters for golf
Vertical force production is one of the strongest predictors of clubhead speed. Driving a med ball vertically trains the legs to push hard into the ground and extend fast. That leg drive is the engine under every fast swing.
Coaching cues
- Load the hips, then drive straight up.
- Push the ground away. Speed comes from the legs.
- Reach full extension at the top.
- Rest enough to keep every rep fast.
Common faults
- Shallow, rushed loading.
- All arms, minimal leg drive.
- Reps slowing down without added rest.
