    Med Ball

    Med Ball Decel Jump

Jump with a med ball and stick the landing, training the braking strength that turns body speed into clubhead speed.

    Why it matters for golf

Clubhead speed depends on how well the lead side can slam on the brakes. This drill trains the legs and trunk to absorb force fast and hold position. Better braking means more energy goes into the club instead of leaking through the body.

    Coaching cues

    • Jump with intent, land with control.
    • Stick the landing quiet. No extra steps.
    • Absorb through hips and knees, not the lower back.
    • Hold the landing for a full second before resetting.

    Common faults

    • Loud, stiff-legged landings.
    • Knees caving in on impact.
    • Falling forward or stepping out of the landing.
