Med Ball Rotational Split Squats
Split squats with a med ball rotation, building lower body strength under a turning trunk like the swing demands.
lungerotation
Why it matters for golf
Golfers rotate from a staggered, single-leg-biased base more than a square one. Adding rotation to a split squat trains the trunk to turn while the legs stay strong and stable. That stability under rotation shows up as a steadier swing base.
Coaching cues
- Drop straight down in the split squat.
- Rotate the ball with control, hips quiet.
- Keep the front knee tracking over the toes.
- Own the tempo down and up.
Common faults
- Front knee wobbling as you rotate.
- Hips turning with the ball instead of holding steady.
- Leaning the trunk instead of rotating it.
