Why it matters for golf
The change of direction from backswing to downswing is a fast redirect of force. Rebounding reps train the body to absorb and return energy quickly, sharpening that stretch-shortening ability. The faster the catch turns into the next throw, the more reactive the pattern becomes.
Coaching cues
- Catch and throw in one beat. Minimal pause.
- Stay braced through the trunk.
- Keep posture tall, hips ready.
- Crisp rhythm beats max effort here.
Common faults
- Holding the ball too long between reps.
- Posture collapsing as the pace rises.
- Arms doing all the work with no trunk.
