    Why it matters for golf

Vertical jump power tracks closely with clubhead speed. Jumping trains the hips and legs to extend explosively, the same drive that pushes off the ground in the downswing. Land well and it builds durability too.

    Coaching cues

    • Quick dip, big arm swing.
    • Drive through the whole foot.
    • Full extension at the top.
    • Land soft and quiet.

    Common faults

    • A slow, deep countermovement that kills the bounce.
    • Stiff, noisy landings.
