    Why it matters for golf

Squatting well is the base for using the ground. A golfer who can sit into the hips with a stable trunk can load the trail side and push into the lead side without losing posture. It also keeps the knees and hips durable for high practice volume.

    Coaching cues

    • Feet about shoulder width.
    • Sit the hips back and down.
    • Keep the chest up and the heels down.
    • Push the floor away to stand.

    Common faults

    • Heels lifting or knees caving in.
    • Chest dropping and back rounding at the bottom.
