power
Why it matters for golf
Broad jumps teach the hips to produce force fast and project it forward, which carries to the push off the trail leg in the downswing. Sticking each landing also trains the braking strength that turns speed into a stable strike.
Coaching cues
- Big arm swing, load the hips.
- Push the ground away and jump for distance.
- Land soft in an athletic stance.
- Stick the landing before resetting.
Common faults
- Landing with stiff legs or falling forward.
- Rolling into the next rep without stabilizing.
