180 Jumps
A vertical jump with a 180 degree turn in the air, training rotary power and controlled landings.
powerrotation
Why it matters for golf
The golf swing is a rotational jump in disguise. 180 jumps teach the body to create rotation from the ground and then stop it, the same load and brake pattern that controls the club through impact. The landing work also builds durable knees and hips.
Coaching cues
- Load the hips, not just the knees.
- Drive off the ground and turn in the air.
- Land soft with knees tracking over the toes.
- Stick the landing before the next rep.
- Alternate directions each rep.
Common faults
- Landing stiff legged with a loud slap.
- Turning with the shoulders instead of jumping and rotating as one unit.
- Rushing reps and never stabilizing the landing.
