    Step Swing

A step toward the target combined with a swing motion. Trains pressure shift timing and rhythm.

    Why it matters for golf

The step forces pressure to move before the swing happens, which is exactly the sequence good swings share. Rehearsing it as a drill builds a feel for shifting into the lead side early and turning through, adding rhythm and usable speed.

    Coaching cues

    • Step toward the target first.
    • Let pressure arrive before the swing.
    • Turn through the planted lead side.
    • Smooth tempo, no lunging at it.

    Common faults

    • Swinging before the step finishes.
    • Overstriding and losing balance through the finish.
<!-- VERIFY against video: Assumed a step change style drill, stepping into the lead side before swinging; confirm footwork and whether a club is swung. -->
