    Why it matters for golf

Single leg strength decides how well a golfer loads the trail side and posts on the lead side. Lunges train each leg independently and expose side to side gaps that a squat hides.

    Coaching cues

    • Step out with intent.
    • Drop the back knee straight down.
    • Front heel stays heavy.
    • Push through the front leg to return.

    Common faults

    • Knee collapsing inward.
    • A short stride that pitches the torso forward.
