Lunge To Overhead Tilt
A lunge with the arms overhead and a side tilt. Pairs lower body stability with the trunk mobility a full turn needs.
lungemobility
Why it matters for golf
The overhead reach and side bend open the lats, obliques, and thoracic spine while the lunge challenges balance below. Golfers get lateral trunk mobility over a stable base, which supports side bend in the downswing.
Coaching cues
- Step into a solid lunge.
- Reach both arms overhead.
- Tilt sideways and stay long through the trunk.
- Return to tall before switching sides.
Common faults
- Leaning back instead of tilting sideways.
- Losing the lunge position as the arms move.
