Lateral Squats
Side to side squats over a wide stance. Builds frontal plane strength and the hip and groin mobility a full turn needs.

Why it matters for golf
Golf lives in rotation, but rotation borrows from side to side mobility. Lateral squats open the groin and inner thigh while strengthening the hips through a sideways shift, which supports pressure shift and a deeper turn.
Coaching cues
- Wide stance, toes mostly forward.
- Shift the hips over one heel.
- Sit back and down, other leg straight.
- Push back to the middle and switch.
Common faults
- Heel lifting on the working side.
- Folding the chest to the floor instead of sitting into the hip.
