Why it matters for golf
The stomp drill ties the start of the downswing to an aggressive lead foot plant. It trains the timing of ground force at overspeed intent, connecting foot pressure to clubhead speed.
Coaching cues
- Set up per the protocol.
- Plant the lead foot hard, then swing.
- Swing with max intent after the stomp.
- Stay balanced through the finish.
Common faults
- Stomp and swing blur together with no sequence.
- Easing off the swing to focus on the foot.
