Dumbbell Single Deadlift
A single-sided dumbbell deadlift that builds hinge strength with an added balance and stability demand.
hingebalance
Why it matters for golf
Loading the hinge one side at a time builds the glutes and hamstrings while the trunk fights to stay square. That single-sided stability transfers directly to weight shift and the lead-leg post-up in the swing.
Coaching cues
- Push the hips back, keep a flat back.
- Stay square, don't let the trunk twist open.
- Keep the dumbbell close.
- Own the balance before adding load or speed.
Common faults
- Rounding the back.
- Hips rotating open during the hinge.
- Rushing reps and losing balance.
