    Why it matters for golf

Rowing strength builds the lats and upper back that hold your spine angle from address through impact. The bent over position also trains the hinge itself, so you groove posture while you pull.

    Coaching cues

    • Hinge at the hips, flat back.
    • Row toward the ribs, not the chin.
    • Squeeze the shoulder blades at the top.
    • Keep the neck neutral.

    Common faults

    • Rounding the low back as reps add up.
    • Standing up out of the hinge to finish the pull.
    • Yanking the weight with momentum.
