    Why it matters for golf

Single leg strength drives the weight shift and the lead-leg post-up that create speed at impact. The split stance also exposes and trains hip stability side to side, a common gap in golfers.

    Coaching cues

    • Rear foot elevated, front foot far enough forward to stay balanced.
    • Drop the back knee straight down.
    • Keep the front heel heavy.
    • Stay tall through the trunk.

    Common faults

    • Front knee caving inward.
    • Torso pitching forward or leaning sideways.
    • Pushing off the back foot instead of driving through the front leg.
