    Why it matters for golf

The rear delts and mid-back keep the shoulders from rounding, protecting posture at address and through the finish. It also balances out the pressing and swinging volume that pulls golfers forward over time.

    Coaching cues

    • Set a stable, flat-back position first.
    • Raise the dumbbells out wide with soft elbows.
    • Squeeze the shoulder blades together.
    • Lower slow, keep tension.

    Common faults

    • Swinging the weights up with momentum.
    • Shrugging the traps instead of using the rear delts.
    • Losing the flat-back position.
