Martin Borgmeier
Martin won the 2022 World Long Drive Championship in Mesquite, Nevada, closing out the final with a 426 yard drive against Bryson DeChambeau. His peak competitive numbers include a 484 yard drive and 239.3 mph of ball speed.
Getting there was not a talent story. It was years of building a body that could survive swinging at full commitment, then training the speed itself as a separate skill. Most golfers never do the first part, which is why the second part never holds.
Inside DRVN, Martin has broken that process into three levels. You start where your speed actually is, build the strength and stability to hold more of it, and move up only when the number says you are ready.
On my road to 160 miles an hour, I've made so many mistakes. You're going to learn from all of that.Martin Borgmeier
What elite actually looks like.
Club head speed is the number this whole system moves. Here is the scale it moves you along.
Where most club golfers stall, often for years. Level 1 is built to clear it.
The speed of the professional game. This is what Project Speed is built to reach.
World Long Drive. Forty miles an hour past elite, which is why he knows every mistake on the road there.
We are not trying to turn you into a long drive competitor. We are trying to make you elite.120 mph is tour average, and it is the ceiling this system is built for. Martin went 40 mph further — that is not the target, it is the reason he can get you there without the wasted years.
Three levels. Pick yours.
Each level builds the body for the speed above it. Start with the one that matches your speed today and it loads straight into your DRVN app.

Breaking 300
- 60 minutes or less per session
- Adds compound lifts
- Challenging speed work

All Out Speed
- 60+ minutes per session
- Full gym setup required
- Advanced, explosive training
Which level are you?
Pick by the speed you have now, not the speed you want. Every level is the same price, and your membership carries you through all three.
Don't know your number? Speed and Power are two of the ten elements in the Golf Fitness Handicap. Take it free, and it tells you which level to start on and what is holding the speed back.

Breaking 100
The 100 mph barrier is the first real wall in golf. Breaking 100 gets you through it by fixing how you move before asking you to move fast.
+ 1 Speed
“My handicap has dipped below 7. Driver speed is sitting at 103mph — that’s 5 mph higher than this time last year. Winter is usually 98mph, with a bump to 101–102 when the layers come off. The improvements in sequencing from the workouts is an eye opener.”
Phil Quatrale · USA
What you'll train:
- Stability first — a base that lets you swing hard without leaking power or risking your back
- Entry-level biomechanics: how the body actually sequences a fast golf swing, taught from the ground up
- Foundational power through simple, low-equipment movements you can do at home
- Your first structured speed sessions, with protocols scaled to a beginner's output

Breaking 300
300 yards is not one big drive. It is the drive you hit on a normal Saturday. This level builds the strength to produce that number and the stability to repeat it.
+ 1 Speed
“I got back into my training and stretching pre-season and it made a massive difference. That effort meant I could swing easier on the course and still be 20 yards past my playing partners.”
Steven Coutts · UK
What you'll train:
- Real strength work — the load capacity that separates a 270 yard carry from a 300 yard carry
- Stability under speed, so the extra force you produce reaches the ball instead of getting lost
- Rotational power developed through the hips and torso, not the arms
- Challenging speed sessions that push your ceiling rather than rehearsing your current number

All Out Speed
120 mph is tour average, and tour average is elite. This level builds a body that can hold golf at that speed, then trains speed twice a week on top. The goal is speed in reserve — when your maximum reaches tour average, your normal swing stops being a maximum effort.
Tour Average
+ 2 Speed
“Love the app my friend. On week 7 and my flexibility has greatly improved and I’m seeing about 10 yards farther with the irons and driver. Can’t say enough about the app.”
Tay Beacham · USA
Every mile an hour is harder won at this level. A 6% gain on a 110 mph swing is a bigger ask than 12% on a 90 mph one, and marginal is what the top of the game is made of — the best players in the world compete inside exactly these margins.
What you'll train:
- Advanced, explosive work — the output end of the strength you built at Level 2
- A body built to absorb maximum-effort swings repeatedly, which is what makes high speed sustainable
- Two speed sessions a week, the volume Martin used to get to the top of long drive
- Durability work alongside the speed, because the fastest swing is worth nothing if you cannot make it twice

What golfers are saying.
I'm loving the app. It's helped me get my driver swing speed up from 94mph to an average of 99mph so thank you! Just pushing for that extra 1mph now to meet my original goal.
I've added 20 yards to my drives in 6 weeks and feel better than ever, no more low back pain. Would recommend to anyone!
Since I've started using y'alls programs I've lost about 25lbs, I'm in the best shape of my life. I've dropped from a 5 handicap to a 1 in the past five months.
Before you start.
What exactly do I get?
A full DRVN membership for the year at $180, with your chosen Project Speed level loaded into the app and ready on day one. You also get every other coach, program and the Golf Fitness Handicap. The same membership through the app store costs $30 a month, so joining here is half the price.
Is there a free trial?
Not on this page. Joining direct means one clear annual payment and a 30-day money-back guarantee instead, which protects you for longer than a trial would. If you would rather try the app first, the listings at the bottom of this page offer a free trial through the app store.
Will training for speed cost me accuracy?
Not when the strength comes first. Speed goes wrong when a golfer swings harder than their body can control, which is exactly what the level structure prevents. Each level builds the stability to hold the speed before it asks for more of it.
What equipment do I need?
It changes by level, and that is deliberate. Breaking 100 needs dumbbells, bands and a med ball — that is it, and it works at home. Breaking 300 adds compound lifts, so you will want a barbell and a rack. All Out Speed requires a full gym setup. Start at the level your equipment supports; by the time you need a gym, you will have earned the reason to join one.
Can I skip to All Out Speed?
You can, but it is the wrong move under 110 mph. Level 3 is built to take you to tour average, and it assumes the strength base from Level 2 is already there. Starting without it is how golfers plateau or get hurt. Use the Golf Fitness Handicap to place yourself honestly.
How much speed can I actually gain?
Breaking 100 targets a 12% speed increase over 12 weeks, Breaking 300 targets 9% over 12 weeks, and All Out Speed targets 6% over 6 weeks. The percentages get smaller as you move up, which is the honest shape of speed training. The yardage does not, because you are adding each gain on top of a faster swing.
What that looks like in practice is on this page. Phil went from a 98 mph winter baseline to 103. Tay saw about 10 yards across the bag by week 7. Individual results vary with your starting point and how consistently you train.
I'm a senior golfer. Is this for me?
Yes, and Breaking 100 is where to start. Speed is trainable at any age, and losing it is one of the main reasons golf gets less enjoyable over time. The programme scales to what your body can handle today.
Do I get the other two levels as well?
Yes. The membership carries all three. You start at the level that matches your speed today, and when you clear it you move up the same day at no extra cost.
