Barbell Bent Over Row
Hinged barbell row. Builds pulling strength and an upper back that holds golf posture under fatigue.
pull
Why it matters for golf
The row loads the same hinged posture a golfer holds at address. It builds the lats and upper back that keep the trunk stable through the swing, and it balances out pressing and rotation work.
Coaching cues
- Hinge until the torso is close to flat.
- Brace, then pull the bar to the lower ribs.
- Squeeze the shoulder blades at the top.
- Hold the hinge, no standing up between reps.
Common faults
- Torso bounces up to help the pull.
- Bar drifts to the chest with flared elbows.
- Lower back rounds under load.
