About
Florida Athletic Club is a strength and conditioning facility in the heart of downtown Sarasota, Florida, at the corner of South Osprey Avenue and Main Street. The club opened in December 2020 under owner and head coach Zac Ansaldo and serves a member community spanning Sarasota, Siesta Key, Lakewood Ranch, Longboat Key, and the surrounding Suncoast.
FAC runs on individualized programs delivered in small-group, one-on-one, hybrid, and virtual formats — plus a dedicated programming track for members over 65 and a members-only app for at-home work. The training philosophy is movement first, strength second: no quick fixes, no magic powders — real food, real training, real results.
Owner Zac Ansaldo is a former competitive Olympic weightlifter and powerlifter who came to Florida from a Kansas City CrossFit background, opened FAC after running Seaward CrossFit, and earned his DRVN Certified Pro designation in 2026. Many of FAC's members are golfers — the year-round Suncoast season and the density of nearby courses make athletic longevity central to the membership. Zac's golf programming focuses on the demands of the modern swing: thoracic mobility, single-leg stability, anti-rotational core strength, hip internal rotation, and the durable strength base that lets a player practice and compete without breaking down.
As a DRVN Partner Facility, FAC offers its members the full DRVN system: standardized assessments, self-led golf-specific training, and Golf Fitness Handicap™ tracking. For Zac's golfer clients, that means a measurable physical baseline they can re-test alongside their handicap index, plus structured programming that complements the in-person work at the gym.
