DRVN Certified Pro™ Training is Now a PGA-Selected CPD Course
DRVN Certified Pro™ is now a PGA-Selected online course on PGA Learn — with a 25% PGA member discount and CPD hours toward Accredited status. Here's what it means for PGA Members.

What the new listing on PGA Learn means for PGA Members — and why golf fitness is now a recognised CPD pathway.
Golf fitness has spent the last decade earning its place in the modern coaching conversation. The DRVN Certified Pro™ credential now occupies a formal seat at that table. As of this season, DRVN Certified Pro™ is listed as a PGA-Selected online course on PGA Learn — the official Continuing Professional Development platform of The Professional Golfers' Association (Great Britain & Ireland).
For PGA Members, that listing carries real, practical weight. It is not a marketing arrangement. It is editorial recognition from the governing body itself, paired with a member discount and CPD credit toward Accredited status. Here is what the new relationship means, how it works, and why it matters for the way you coach.
What PGA Selected actually means
PGA Learn is the official CPD platform of The PGA, launched in late 2020 to give Members a single place to access vetted learning content, log hours, and submit their annual CPD journal. The platform now houses over a thousand pieces of learning content — eLearning courses, podcasts, webinars, video, and written material — every item of which has been either produced by The PGA or carefully selected by The PGA's content team.
That selection process is not automatic. Third-party programmes are assessed against the Association's Core Value Blocks — the framework that organises CPD content by relevance to the working PGA Professional. To carry the PGA Selected badge, a course must demonstrate that it is structured, evidence-informed, and directly applicable to the professional practice of teaching, coaching, or developing golfers.
DRVN Certified Pro™ has met that bar. The credential is now searchable, enrollable, and discounted inside the platform that PGA Members already use to manage their professional development.
Why The PGA selected DRVN
The case for adding golf fitness to a PGA Professional's toolkit is no longer theoretical. The physical side of performance is now a defining variable in player development at every level — from beginner durability to elite ceiling. Coaches who can assess, communicate, and intelligently co-manage the physical component retain players longer and produce more consistent outcomes.
DRVN was built specifically to give golf coaches a structured way to do that work without stepping outside their scope of practice. The methodology is built on three pillars that align directly with how PGA Professionals already think about coaching:
- A standardised assessment framework — the Golf Fitness Handicap™ — that produces a measurable baseline in the same way a handicap index does for the swing.
- A clear decision system — the Body → Club → Ball causal chain — that connects physical readiness to swing mechanics and ball flight.
- A defined scope of practice that helps coaches identify what they can address directly, what requires a fitness specialist, and how to collaborate without conflict.
The methodology is shaped by contributors who span the full performance landscape: PGA Professional Michael Dennington, Elite Sport Physiotherapist Kevin Abel, 2022 World Long Drive Champion Martin Borgmeier, former tour professional Cassandra Meyer, and PGA Tour competitor George Bryan IV. The result is a coaching system grounded in real coaching reality, not gym theory.
What PGA Members get
A 25% member discount
PGA Members access the DRVN Certified Pro™ credential at $449, down from the standard $599. The discount is exclusive to verified PGA Members and is available through the member-only landing page or the PGA Learn course listing.
CPD hours toward Accredited status
This is the structural benefit that compounds year over year. The PGA's CPD system recognises completed learning from PGA Learn courses, with submitted hours counting toward the Accredited designation — the higher-level CPD status that Members can maintain by meeting the Association's annual learning requirements. Hours earned by completing the DRVN Method Master Course apply directly. CPD activity submitted via My CPD typically receives a status update within 24 hours of journal submission.
The complete DRVN Certified Pro™ system
The credential is not a single course. It is a complete practice standard with ongoing access:
- The DRVN Method Master Course — 12 sections, 86 modules, 40+ instructional videos covering the full methodology.
- Rights to deliver the Golf Fitness Handicap™ assessment and the 5-point mobility screen.
- Listing in the official DRVN Pro registry, surfaced to golfers searching for qualified professionals.
- Annual DRVN App membership included — the same app your clients use, free for the year ($180 value).
- $40 commission for every client referred to a DRVN App membership.
- Direct matching with local DRVN App users who need a qualified professional.
Where this fits with your PGA qualification
The DRVN Certified Pro™ credential complements PGA qualifications. It does not replace them, compete with them, or duplicate them. PGA training produces the foundational expertise in swing instruction, rules, player development, and business. DRVN adds the structured physical layer — the assessment, programming, and decision-making framework for working with the golfer's body.
In practical terms, this means a PGA Professional with the DRVN credential can:
- Assess a player's physical readiness in 15 minutes using a repeatable protocol.
- Explain to a player exactly which swing limitations are technical and which are physical — and what to do about each.
- Prescribe DRVN App programmes appropriate to the player's level, then track adherence and progress.
- Run quarterly reassessments that demonstrate measurable improvement — the kind of objective progress reporting that retains long-term clients.
- Collaborate cleanly with fitness professionals using shared language and standards.
None of this requires becoming a strength and conditioning coach. The system is designed to extend what PGA Professionals already do best, with a defensible specialisation that signals a higher standard of practice.
Why this matters now
The economics of golf coaching are shifting. Players invest more in instruction, technology, and year-round development than ever before. They also expect more — clearer reasoning, measurable progress, and a coach who can address the whole picture, not just the swing. The PGA Professionals who win the next decade will be the ones who can integrate the physical conversation into their practice without losing their coaching identity.
PGA Learn now offers a recognised, vetted, discounted path to do exactly that. The credential is portable, the methodology is proven, and the hours count toward the CPD standards Members already work to maintain.
